The Martial Art of Human Intelligence
Welcome to the Lau Nam Yat Wing Chun Family.
We are WING CHUN ORLANDO, devoted to the pure and unbroken lineage of Jiu Wan.
The Essence of Our Art
Structure. Sensitivity. Mindlessness.
Wing Chun was born from a profound truth: brute strength fades, but structure and sensitivity endure. The yin side of energy does not resist. It receives, adapts, and redirects until the attack exhausts itself, while striking in a way that prevents the next attack from ever arriving.
Our art is not about domination or aggression. It is about understanding. We study the laws of nature not to control them, but to move in harmony with them: yin and yang, structure and flow, intent and release.
Before you can apply this art, you must understand three core concepts:
- The Horse: The living foundation that builds a stable, rooted structure for effective kung fu.
- Chong Chi: Elastic energy in tendons and ligaments that sharpens sensitivity and timing.
- Mindlessness: True skill beyond conscious thought, where trained responses emerge without hesitation.
Jiu Wan - Pure Wingchun Lineage
Grandmaster Jiu Wan (1910-1985) carried a pure Wing Chun transmission rooted in structure, sensitivity, and practical function. His line was preserved through close family-style teaching where skill, feeling, and mindset were passed directly from teacher to student.
We continue that tradition as a family, not a school. Culture and character are part of the training. Wing Chun without culture can still mimic movement, but it loses the living essence that makes it true and effective.
